This division uses the LEGO Mindstorm/EV3 Robotics Systems as the competition platform.
This year, the challenge is Nature's Fury. Teams must build robots to compete in the challenge and complete a research project related to the challenge. During the competition, teams may also appear before panel of judges.

High School and Middle School school teams build walking 2-leg and 4-leg robots from scratch, and compete not just on Performance, but also in their Written Reports and Oral Presentations. Options include automating the robots and using feedback sensors to operate autonomously.
