  • FIRST Robotics- Central Missouri Regional, Smith-Cotton High School

    As part of a FIRST® team, kids apply math and science knowledge, solve problems, make decisions, communicate complex ideas, collaborate as part of a team, exercise leadership, manage resources, create and execute business plans – all essential skills in any successful technological enterprise. FIRST® competitions and tournaments are celebrations by which communities convey the importance of their students’ achievements in science and technology. FIRST® celebrations are fun, energetic and filled with excitement.

  • GREATER KANSAS CITY SCIENCE & ENGINEERING FAIR, Union Station

    Students in grades 4-12 showcase their science fair projects in 15 categories ranging from Animal Sciences to Inventions as they compete to win ribbons, awards and cash prizes totaling nearly $7,000.

  • 15th Annual Robotics Design Challenge – 2020, University of Missouri Campus

    Robotics Design Challenge is an event for K-8 youth, where they build LEGO-robots with a variety of sensors, and program them to accomplish a given task. The Challenge has been hosted annually since 2006 by the Center staff, in collaboration with K-12 teachers, 4-H and other community organizations. The goal is to introduce STEM skills at a an early age, and to motivate them to pursue science and engineering careers.
