National Robotics Week 2017 Events

Thank you to everyone who hosted, promoted, and participated in National Robotics Week 2016! With your continuing help, we had over 300 events for Robo Week. The eighth annual National Robotics Week will be held April 8-16, 2017 and promises to be even bigger! Submit your own event!

Host An Event

Remember it can be everything from bringing a robot to the library, to a demo at the science center, to a huge robot carnival! We just want to share the excitement of robotics around the US. If you hosted an event for 2016, thanks for joining us and please tell us about your event here.

Event List

Robofest at Cloquet, Cloquet Middle School
Robofest is a festival of competitions and events with autonomous robots that encourages students to have fun while learning principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) and Computer Science. Students design, construct, and program the robots. Any robotics kits are allowed in the construction of robots. Robots can be programmed with any programming language. Robofest programs support Computer Science for All.

Minnesota 10000 Lakes Regional, Williams Arena/The Sports Pavilion Univ of MN
Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology, this is the ultimate Sport for the Mind. Watch as student-built-robots compete in the 2017 challenge entitled FIRST STEAMWORKS. How does it work? Each January, high school teams receive a Kit of Parts comprised of donated items and components worth tens of thousands of dollars. With limited instructions and working with adult Mentors, students have just six (6) weeks to collaboratively design, build, program and test their robots to meet each season's new engineering challenge. Once these young investors build their robot, the team competes in regional/district events that measure the effectiveness of the robot, the power of collaboration and the determination of students. Teams vie for awards and a spot at the FIRST Championship in St. Louis, MO where the best-of-the-best come together in late April. College scholarships top some $30+ million annually.
