Event List

  • Student Robotics Demonstrations, Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

The Smithsonian National Air and Space museum commemorates National Robotics Week. Robotics has become an integral part of aeronautics, space exploration, and human spaceflight. Our museum exhibits a number of robotics milestones, such as DARPA’s ARM robot, Robonaut 1, the MER Mars Rover model, and the Google Car, among many others. College teams participating in National Robotics Week in Washington, DC will present their robotics work to visitors. These students will share video of their creations and describe their project's objectives. The participating teams are from the following schools and organizations: The Robotics Inventors Club by Infamous Robotics LLC George Washington University University of Maryland Cornell University Embry Riddle Aeronautical University Florida International University University of Pittsburgh This program will be presented by Jennifer Levasseur, museum specialist at the National Air and Space Museum. National Robotics Week was established in 2010 by the House of Representatives, and has grown from 50 affiliated events in its first year to over 200 last year. We join in this commemoration by celebrating new innovation in robotics.
