Tens of exploration stations will provide hands-on activities that bring opportunity for engagement and exchange between children, teens, families, and local STEM professionals.

Join us for Science Fever Fridays, a dynamic homeschool class designed for learners of all ages! Each session will explore a different science topic—ranging from biology and chemistry to engineering and space science. While topics will be announced as we go, every class promises hands-on discovery, curiosity-driven learning, and fun!

Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. We call FIRST Robotics Competition the ultimate Sport for the Mind. High-school student participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.”

The fair’s mission is to promote STEM through advanced research among secondary students and to spark their interest and motivation to pursue STEM careers. Whether you're a middle school student just beginning to explore scientific research or a high school senior looking to cap off your academic career with a meaningful project, H-SEF 2026 is calling.

The Botball Educational Robotics Program engages middle and high school students in a hands-on, team-based robotics competition that brings STEM to life. Students design, build, and program autonomous robots — no remote controls here! — using real engineering and coding skills aligned with today’s academic standards.

The VEX Robotics competition prepares students to become future innovators with 95% of participants reporting an increased interest in STEM subject areas and pursuing STEM-related careers. Tournaments are held year-round at the regional, state, and national levels and culminate at the VEX Robotics World Championship each April!

i3Detroit is the largest non-profit maker space in the Metro Detroit area, located in Ferndale, MI, just north of Detroit. Spectators are welcome and free to attend and doors open at 9am. Come hang out with fellow builders, show off your robot, and enjoy an awesome day of combat robotics. The event will also be livestreamed at the i3Detroit YouTube channel.

Come hang out with fellow builders, show off your robot, and enjoy an awesome day of combat robotics. Each bot will have a $30 registration fee. Each bot registered will come with two competitor tickets. Additional tickets will be $5 each. CTK students will have free entry tickets.

A day of collaboration, learning, and inspiration meant to bring together a vibrant community of PreK-12 educators, community-based organization representatives, and WPI undergraduate Teacher Preparation Program students for a day of sharing, learning, and connecting.

This all-ages festival showcases makers from across the state and invites visitors to discover their own inner inventor through hands-on experiences. With their daily admission (free for members) visitors are welcome to try out skill stations, dive into workshops, and watch demonstrations by local robotics teams! This year is all about Empowered Tools – how traditional methods and technological advancements help creatives bring their boldest ideas to life. From handcrafted to high-tech, the tools we use shape the way we build, imagine, and innovate!

The UNC Science Expo is a signature event of the annual North Carolina Science Festival and one of the biggest celebrations of science in the state. More than 100 booths staffed by UNC-Chapel Hill students, researchers, practitioners, and community volunteers fill the quads surrounding Morehead Planetarium and Science Center. From hands-on activities and games to science demonstrations and behind-the-scenes lab tours, the UNC Science Expo makes learning about science fun and engaging for people of all ages.
