The Lynx Initiative (TLI) and the Alaska Museum of Science & Nature (AKSCI) have joined forces to expand STEM education and bring robotics opportunities to underserved communities in Anchorage. This student-led initiative is built on a shared vision—ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has access to meaningful STEM experiences that ignite curiosity and inspire a lifelong passion for learning.

Our mission is to create an environment for children and the community that exercises curiosity, promotes exploration, and develops imagination through hands-on learning experiences.

Teams of high school students design, program, and build industrial-sized robots to play an action-packed game, released in January. They compete on a themed field as part of a three-team alliance in the spirit of Coopertition®. In 360-degree learning guided by adult mentors, each FIRST Robotics Competition team also creates a team identity, raises funds to meet its goals, and advances appreciation for STEM in its community.

In this informative workshop, members of the FTC Robotics Team Robophins 3216 of Whitney Young High School presents their introduction to Computer-Aided Design! Teens in the YOUMedia can watch as the Robophins demonstrate their design process and implement new ideas. For teens 13 to 19.

Learn how robotics and gaming are used in therapy exercises for people with disabilities. Experiment with NeuroNinja game and the PANDA toy to see how robots record movements and make exercise fun and interactive. For more information, visit GRASP on X.

Join us for Lego Club where kids can come in and show off their Lego building skills! An assortment of Legos will be provided for building use at the library. This program is for ages 6 and up.

Join us for Construction Crew where kids can come in and put their building skills to the test! An assortment of STEM and building materials will be provided for building use at the library. This program is for ages 3 and up.

Come make some Lego creations with fellow teens and tweens! This is for kids aged 9-18 years old. Registration is not required.

This spring Nevada Robotics is providing METRICS – Mentoring Educators Teaching Robotics and Innovation in Computer Science – workshops for Natchez Elementary School teachers. The three-part training series will cover using the VEX 123 robot as a tool to teach computer science, language, and math standards. Trainees will engage in hands-on Books and Bots lesson that partner unique and diverse story books with robotics and computer science activities.

Attention, future robotic engineers and innovators! We invite you to embark on a thrilling journey into the captivating world of robotics. Throughout this immersive program, students will acquire invaluable skills while working with mainboards, DC motors, gears, and axles to construct a wide variety of robot designs. Take on the fun challenge of building your robot entirely from scratch and then customizing, playing with and battling them together! No prior experience required– just bring your passion for discovery and fun!

Join us for an evening mixer with fellow battery innovators to exchange ideas, spark new partnerships, and explore opportunities to launch the next big breakthrough in battery technology. The main focus of the event will be a round of lightning talks by local battery innovators (~5 mins each), audience Q&A, and an opportunity for attendees to share announcements and learn about battery jobs/resource opportunities.
