Get ready to build, code, and explore. In this action-packed LEGO robotics STEM camp in Bowling Green, Kentucky, 3rd–6th grade students become engineers on a mission. Using Spheros and LEGO Spike Essential or Spike Prime kits, campers design, build, and program their own robots while tackling fun, themed challenges. Each mission encourages creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving as kids turn their ideas into moving, thinking 3D models. Whether it’s their first time with robotics or they already love LEGOs, Robot Camp Optimus is a hands-on STEM experience that makes learning feel like play and sparks big imaginations.

For 10 years, All Access Maker Camp has offered a fun week of exploring the Intrepid Museum, solving problems, experimenting with new tools and technology, designing projects and making friends! This camp is specifically for children and teens ages 8–14 with developmental disabilities, including autism. The camp provides an in-depth learning opportunity for campers to practice social-emotional skills, including problem-solving, communication and collaboration. Campers try out design challenges related to the ship, aircraft and space, and they go behind the scenes to meet with experts.

In April, we combine Minecraft with Robotics, building physical art-bots and virtual Redstone machines. We tailor the tech to the student: Seniors (9-13) dive into logic scripting and physics, while our Junior Squad (6-8) utilizes specialized, icon-based software and tactile building kits—allowing them to master complex concepts without the frustration of heavy reading or typing.

Join us for a week of hands-on creativity! Our studio is set up with dedicated zones for woodworking, sewing & beading, and 3D printing, and campers can rotate through these spaces freely to create different projects, while still enjoying plenty of flexibility to follow their interests.

Discover how to train your robot, from learning how to connect basic circuits and bring your bot to life, to programming your bots to navigate complex mazes. The tools are at your fingertips! $100 per camper (members: $90) Snack and beverage provided. Campers will need to bring a lunch.

STEM Storytime is our weekly themed story time for pre-K kids at the science center. Each week, we'll read a different book related to a STEAM concept and explorers will have the opportunity to complete an accompanying activity.

Daniela Rus is the MIT Panasonic Professor of Computer Science Science and Director of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at MIT. She will be sharing her exciting research in the robotics and Physical AI space, her thoughts on Physical AI in general, as well as some of the startups she has helped create and those that have come out of CSAIL. A3 (Association for Advanced Automation) will be recording the session for their podcast channel.

The South Dakota Discovery Center delivers hands-on learning experiences about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) that create curiosity, excitement, and lifelong STEM exploration.

Manifest your creations during open lab hours at the Civic Center Makerspace! Learn and use the 3D printer, make use of arts and crafts supplies or bring your own projects. This is the time for you to make and learn. Both teens and adults are welcome during open hours.

Interested in learning how to program a robot? If so, the Robotics with Java Workshop is perfect for you. Learn basic Java syntax and gain experience with programming a robot. Participants are highly recommended to bring laptops. Walk-ins are welcome. No registration required. Recommended for children in grades 5 to 8. Offered Mon-Wed from 2-3pm during National Robotics Week.

The Paper Merry-Go-Round Project is a hands-on craft that combines creativity, engineering, and decoration to make a miniature spinning carousel. Using paper cups as the base, participants construct a circular “platform” with a central pivot that allows the cups or seats to rotate like a real merry-go-round. The craft can be personalized with colors, patterns, and embellishments to mimic animals, fairground rides, or whimsical designs.
